A 12 page paper discussing a case in which an emergency room nurse turned away a patient delivered by ambulance. The receiving hospital is a private, for-profit organization, and the patient had no job, no funds and no insurance. The patient was suffering from an apparent broken leg after injuring it playing tennis on a city-owned court. When asked how he intended to pay the hospital’s bill, the patient replied that he would sue the city for the funds.
